Obama has got in touch......................

Normally that would get me accused of “smearing” Barack Obama. During the election, as ABC’s Jack Tapper points out, the Obama campaign was branding anyone suggesting that Obama had a Muslim background as a lying liar. But this time it’s ok given that the person saying it is the White House National Security Adviser.

When people fabricate stories about someone’s faith to denigrate them politically, that’s an attack on people of all faiths.

During the 2008 Campaign Barack Obama's website claimed that Obama's father was an agnostic or atheist.

“Barack” is the candidate’s Kenyan father’s name; Obama’s middle name, “Hussein,” is his grandfather’s name. Obama has described his father as atheist or agnostic.

Today we find out his father Barack Obama Senior was indeed a Muslim.
Jake Tapper reported:

During a conference call in preparation for President Obama's trip to Cairo, Egypt, where he will address the Muslim world, deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications Denis McDonough said "the President himself experienced Islam on three continents before he was able to -- or before he's been able to visit, really, the heart of the Islamic world -- you know, growing up in Indonesia, having a Muslim father -- obviously Muslim Americans (are) a key part of Illinois and Chicago."

Sick.

But, the media did not just cover for Obama and his father.
The media also insisted his Kenyan grandmother was a Christian.
But, this past month we learned that this "Christian" grandmother is going to attend The Hajj.
She just might be the first Christian to attend the Hajj in years.

The candidate's comment at a Boca Raton, Florida, town
hall meeting on May 22, 2008, was typical: "My father
was basically agnostic, as far as I can tell, and I didn't
know him," he said.

In September 2008, candidate Obama told a Pennsylvania crowd, "I know that I'm not your typical presidential candidate and I just want to be honest with you. I know that the temptation is to say, 'You know what? The guy hasn't been there that long in Washington. You know, he's got a funny name. You know, we're not sure about him.'

And that's what the Republicans when they say this isn't about issues, it's about personalities, what they're really saying is, 'We're going to try to scare people about Barack. So we're going to say that, you know, maybe he's got Muslim connections.'...Just making stuff up."

What was once taboo by the Obama campaign during the 2008 run for the Presidency is now embraced by the Obamahmessiah. Is this peculiar or frightening, as posted at the Gateway Pundit, “What the hell is he talking about? Just when you thought things could not get any weirder. Barack Obama is now calling America a Muslim Nation”.

He was supposed to be different. People voted for change. Not the socialist changes that he is enacting, but a change in how politicians were supposed to act. However, this political opportunist has shown he is no different that any who have come before him when it comes to playing the political game.

ABC News’ Jake Tapper and Sunlen Miller report: The other day we heard a comment from a White House aide that never would have been uttered during the primaries or general election campaign.

During a conference call in preparation for President Obama’s trip to Cairo, Egypt, where he will address the Muslim world, deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications Denis McDonough said “the President himself experienced Islam on three continents before he was able to — or before he’s been able to visit, really, the heart of the Islamic world — you know, growing up in Indonesia, having a Muslim father — obviously Muslim Americans (are) a key part of Illinois and Chicago.”

Given widespread unease and prejudice against Muslims among Americans, especially in the wake of 9/11, the Obama campaign was perhaps understandably very sensitive during the primaries and general election to downplay the candidate’s Muslim roots.

Remember when using “Hussein” meant you were a right wing hater? It meant you are anti-Muslim rather than just calling The One by his real name. I think that all conservative bloggers should stand up and take a bow because we were not haters, we were avant guard.

Suddenly Barack Obama has done a 180 on the use of words that he does come from Muslim roots and his middle name is in fact “Hussein”. Is it only a matter of time that he admits to the duped American public that he actually did listen in the pews and heard the hate spewed from Reverend Wright for 20 years as well. Hot Air brings up a great point that come 2012 and maybe even sooner in 2010 fro the midterms, “Hussein” will be off the table again and considered right wing hate speech. But for now, Obama plays the Muslim card for his convenience.

As stated by Stop the ACLU, suddenly it is “AOK to say that Obama has “experienced Islam” and remark about his “Muslim father” again. Rah, rah for Islam”. Is this just more of the “transparency” from The Chosen One?

EXIT QUESTION AMERICA … why do you think Obama was offended during the primaries and running for the presidency when he was referred to as BHO? Why do you think that Barack Hussein Obama ran from his past only when he was running for President? Does anyone really think he would have been elected if he embraced his Muslim heritage? Why would that have made a difference? So why would people vote for him now? What is this man hiding?

I guess it depends on what your definition of “one of” is. According to Wikipedia, the US ranks thirty-eighth with a Muslim population of some 4.5 million (about one and half percent of our population). Indonesia is first at over two hundred and seven million.

Our leader goes on to remonstrate with our citizenry about educating ourselves about Islam, which is, in his words, a religion that has always “evolved along with progress.” I suppose that’s true if you disregard women’s rights, gay rights and the basic democratic need for the primacy of state law for all citizens, not to mention a host of other values we could group under the rubric of the Enlightenment. The problem with Obama’s implication that we are not educated about Islam is that he is dead wrong. Many of us now are - by necessity. We know the difference between Medina and Mecca Korans (and their views of jihad), between Sunni and Shiite and so forth. We also know what dhimmi law is… and taqqiya.

Now I suppose if the GOP uses Hussein's words against him it will be what, hate speech? Anti-Muslim bigotry? Let me also see if I get this straight. Although we're an 85% Christian nation, if someone has the temerity to call this a Christian nation they're roundly condemned and excoriated by the secular left. Hussein calls this a Muslim country and trust me, you won't hear a peep from the left. They'll just ridicule us for being paranoid.

Is it any wonder why President Hussein hasn't condemned the Muslim killer of the Army recruiter?

Since the election, however, with the threat of the rumors at least somewhat abated, the White House has been increasingly forthcoming about the president’s roots. Especially when reaching out to the Muslim world.

In his April 6 address to the Turkish Parliament, President Obama referenced how many “Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim majority country. I know, because I am one of them.”

Personally, I wouldn’t have cared if Obama was a Muslim. The constitution itself says that there is not to be a religious litmus test for federal office, and ultimately I’m a lot more concerned about policy. I’d vote for a Muslim or any other flavor of religious belief under the sun if he/she would cut my taxes, limit government and work toward making more free and keeping me free.

And besides, why all the effort to brand Obama as a Muslim when the church he actually belonged to was nutty enough to do in any politician who wasn’t as adored and beloved by the liberal media as Obama is.

For the second time in two days: it's not just that leftists unblinkingly denied something that was demonstrably true (and, in this case, mostly irrelevant with the marginal exception of Pipes's apostate musings). The broader point, which gets into just how vapid these tools are, is that they wrapped up their arguments in the most unbelievably obnoxious pseudo-sophistication. Take equal measures half-baked facts and feigned outrage, stir the pot, and let simmer on Kos for a couple hours. Remove the lid and, just like that, you've got tens of thousands of slack jawed partisans ready to hiss and shriek indignantly. "Make sure everyone you know is aware of this deception." Magical.

In September 2008, candidate Obama told a Pennsylvania crowd, "I know that I'm not your typical presidential candidate and I just want to be honest with you. I know that the temptation is to say, 'You know what? The guy hasn't been there that long in Washington. You know, he's got a funny name. You know, we're not sure about him.' And that's what the Republicans when they say this isn't about issues, it's about personalities, what they're really saying is, 'We're going to try to scare people about Barack. So we're going to say that, you know, maybe he's got Muslim connections.'...Just making stuff up."

Back then, the campaign's "Fight the Smears" website addressed the candidate's faith without mentioning his father's religion:

"Barack Obama is a committed Christian. He was sworn into the Senate on his family Bible. He has regularly attended church with his wife and daughters for years. But shameful, shadowy attackers have been lying about Barack’s religion, claiming he is a Muslim instead of a committed Christian. When people fabricate stories about someone’s faith to denigrate them politically, that’s an attack on people of all faiths. Make sure everyone you know is aware of this deception."

The website also provided quotes from the Boston Globe and Newsweek mentioning his father's roots.

Since the election, however, with the threat of the rumors at least somewhat abated, the White House has been increasingly forthcoming about the president's roots. Especially when reaching out to the
Muslim world.

In his April 6 address to the Turkish Parliament, President Obama referenced how many "Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim majority country. I know, because I am one of them."

Let’s also not forget the President’s “no-bow” bow, providing more fuel to the fire that perhaps the President really is a Muslim at heart; while being a Muslim, per se, would not disqualify Mr. Obama from the presidency, it does help build a circumstantial case regarding his being ineligible.
